I followed the information in the user guide, but my Spree still will not connect properly. What should I do now?

    a. Make sure the Spree is completely charged. When you plug it in, the red light on the back corner of the Spree will light up continuously. When it is fully charged, it will flash.

    b. Next, within the Spree App, click on "Devices" and find the Spree. It shows up as "Spree xx-xx-xx-xx-xx." The device is motion activated, so if it is not initially found, wiggle the device to wake it up.

    c. Once you discover it in the application, make sure it is selected and click Save.

    d. While looking at the back of the Spree (shiny side), press "Begin Workout" and look for the red light to flash on the Spree several times. This means that the Spree pod is connected to the app.

    e. After a few seconds, you'll see the temperature start to indicate on the "Mark Screen." You'll also see the blue Bluetooth logo turn on and then the green battery status indicator over then next 15 seconds.

    f. At this point, place the headband with the pod on your head (shiny side to your forehead) and you should see the heart shaped icon turn red and start to fill from the bottom up. This indicates how strong a signal the Spree is picking up from the blood flow in your skin of your forehead. Adjust the position of the headband (with the Spree pod inserted) until you have at least a third of the heart filled.  Make slow adjustments and wait between them for 5 - 10 seconds to see the result of the adjustment.

    g. If your app is still not working, DELETE the Spree Application from your phone and download and install it again from the iTunes store.

    h. If your app is still not working, please contact Spree support and we will help you out!

    When will you support Android?

Good News!  We now support Android!

    Follow this link:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spreesports

The device must have Android 4.4.x or better (tested with 4.4.2 to 4.4.4).

We tested with Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, and S5, HTC One M8, Google Nexus 5, and LG G3 phones.  We'd love to hear from you for other phone models that do or do not work well.

Do I need Wi-Fi or Cellular Signal to use the Spree app?

No. But you do need the Bluetooth and GPS/Location Services turned on.

What does the light bulb icon do in the upper right of the Workout Screen?

The “light bulb”, icon that looks like a grey circle on the top right of your app and a blue light bulb when tapped is to keep your screen from going to sleep. If you’d like your phone screen to be continuously on, turn the light bulb on.  This works best for those working out on gym equipment.

How do I know when the Spree is charged?

When you first plug the Spree into a charger, it will flash once and then stay on.  The red light will stay on continuously until the Spree if fully charged.  Once fully charged, the red light will flash

Spree POD will not turn on

The most typical problem is that the battery charge is low.

    Follow this process:

    1.  Plug a Micro USB cable into the Spree POD and connect the other end to a USB charger or a computer that is on.

    2.  Did the Red light on the back of the POD illuminate?  If no, check your power source or change power sources.  If it still does not light, submit a trouble ticket.  If yes, then continue to charge the device until the Red light flashes.

    3.  Did the Red light flash after several hours (~4 hours)?  If no, submit a trouble ticket.  If yes, then unplug the POD from the USB cable and stow your charging cable/charger.

    4.  Place the POD to your forehead and hold there with your finger.  Be sure that the back of the POD is next to your head.

    5.  Open the Spree Application on your smart phone

    6.  Tap the device button.

    7.  Does your POD show up in the list?  If no, wait for at least 2 minutes.  If your smart phone does not discover it, then check to be sure you have a phone in the list of supported devices.

    Supported Smart Devices

    iPhone 4s, 5 or newer

iPod Touch Version 5 or newer

    iPad Mini

    iPad Version 3 or newer

    8.  If you have a supported device and you still do not discover your POD, submit a trouble ticket.

How long do I need to charge Spree?

The Spree should always be left on the charger until it flashes.  Depending on the state of the charge, this may take up to 4 hours to completely charge.  Removing the unit from the charger before it is completely charged could adversely affect the battery life both short and long term.
